My name is John Placette. I am a retired Texas Peace Officer. I served at the county, state, and municipal levels. I am an ordained Roman Catholic Deacon in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Both pistols and prayerbooks have been a very important part of my life. Metaphorically, these objects are respective symbols of the secular and the spiritual.

At this site, I would like to explore Faith and Culture and how these two elements of our lives intersect. It is my intent to explore various contemporary subjects as they appear over time.
